Congratulations to Helen Dalton from Shooters, Fishers & Farmers for winning the recent Murray seat in the NSW State Elections 2019.
Lets hope that Helen can deliver much needed services for Deniliquin such as funding for the hospital, water for our farmers and not allocate everything to Griffith or Leeton.
Dalton was raised on a property at Rankins Springs, attended Griffith High School and later completed a Diploma of Education at what is now known as Charles Sturt University. She also holds a Diploma of Horticulture and an Advanced Diploma of Agriculture. With her family she manages mixed farming properties in the Yenda/Binya district. In 2006 Dalton was awarded a Nuffield Scholarship and studied the ‘economic and ecological importance of native vegetation and biodiversity in farming systems in particular rice’. She has served as an executive councillor on NSW Farmers and has been President of the Griffith and District Branch amongst other organisations. Dalton finished second contesting Murray as an Independent at the 2015 state election and came a close second after preferences in the 2017 by-election as a Shooters, Fishers and Farmers candidate.
